Norilsk Nickel says settles dispute with Botswana over local assets

MOSCOW, Nov 18 (PRIME) -- Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel has settled a dispute with the Botswana government and Botswana’s BCL Group over the sale of its African assets, Norilsk Nickel said in a statement on Thursday.

“Norilsk Nickel... announces settlement of the dispute with the government of Botswana and Botswana’s BCL Group in connection with the sale by Norilsk Nickel of its African assets to BCL Group, including a 50% interest in the Nkomati joint venture,” the company said.

Under the terms of the settlement, the parties waived their claims against each other, and Norilsk Nickel received the agreed financial compensation.
